The Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces and Chief of Indonesian National Police Gives Special Instruction to National Army and National Police Members Serving in Papua

Inp.polri.go.id-Papua. National Armed Forces Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and Indonesian National Police Chief, Pol. General Listyo Sigit Prabowo is back on a working visit to Papua. Some of the agendas carried out by the two of them in Bumi Cendrawasih include providing motivation to soldiers and holding meetings with Papuan community leaders.

In his direction to Indonesian Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police (TNI-Polri) personnel who are members of the Nemangkawi Operations Task Force, the Indonesian National Police Chief gave a special message that in addition to their security duties, personnel must also convey that their presence is to guard the government’s agenda to develop Papua.

“You all have to guard to inform the construction that has been carried out. Map it well what the Papuan people’s need,” said the Chief of National Police in a written statement, Wednesday (05/26/2021).

So during a closed meeting with religious figures, customary and Papuan community leaders, the National Police Chief said that the government was highly concerned and focused on developing Papua.

“The government is highly concerned about developing Papua, such as infrastructure development. Indeed, what the government has done have not been fully felt by all Papuan people,” he said.

Regarding the Special Autonomy Bill (Otsus), the Indonesian National Police Chief emphasized that it should be guarded appropriately so that the government’s efforts to improve the welfare of Papuan people are right on target.

Meanwhile, Indonesian National Army Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto alerted all personnel on duty in the Land of Paradisea to have a unique formula for winning the hearts of Papuan people so that they love the Republic of Indonesia firmly. He also asked all elements of personnel tasked with increasing synergy so that the welfare of Papuan people can be felt quicker.

“National Armed Forces and National Police are united with the people. With Noken Community Development and Territorial. Build a good synergy between units,” added Hadi.
