inp.polri.go.id. – Ilaga. Special forces from the joint National Army and National Police team are now hunting down nine armed criminal groups (KKB) in the mountainous forest area of Papua. The security forces could trace their presence.
Papua’s Chief of Regional Police, Pol. General Inspector Mathius D Fakhiri, said that there were at least nine terrorist groups with around 150 peoples.
The total number of members are 150 peoples with as many as 70 smuggled organic firearms which taken by Indonesian National Police, ” explained Chief of Regional Police.
Previously, the Armed Criminal Group led by Lekagak Telenggen was known to have tried to leave Ilaga, Puncak Regency, Papua as a result of cornered by National Army and National Police troops. They are expected to try to break into other plotters’ territory. The closest location that can be reached is Kuyawage or Balingga, Lanny Jaya Regency. The area was controlled by the Puron Wenda group.
In addition, the Regional Police Chief also said that they were unlikely to move to the Intan Jaya Regency area, because they knew that the area was closely guarded by security forces from Indonesian National Police.

Chief of Regional Police asked Indonesian National Police to always be alert to avoid casualties and the confiscation of organic firearms belonging to joint personnel.
