The Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and the Chief of Indonesia National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, were back to visit Papua. The two leaders’ visit was aimed to provide instruction to Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI)-Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel for the next 2021 National Sports Week (PON XX) that will be held on October 2021.
“Their arrival is aimed to provide instruction on the duty we have to perform, which surely will be heavier,” as explained by Chief of Papua Regional Police, Police Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri, in Jayapura.
According to the Chief of Papua Regional Police, Papua PON XX and National Paralimpiade Week (Peparnas) XVI are big agenda that has to be sound prepare, so it is crucial to strengthen Regional Police and Regional Military Command.
“The two agenda have to be prepared well. Regional Police and Regional Military Command have to be strengthened, so we will be ready to carry out our duties, to maintain order and security in Papua during the PON XX and Perpanas,” he said.
Chief of Papua Regional Police also mentioned that he, the Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Chief of Indonesian National Police would meet another stakeholder, community leader, religious leader and government organizations worked on the prone area to hear directly what the TNI-Polri need to do in the future.
The Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander and the Chief of Indonesian National Police will meet in Sentani, Jayapura District. “All agenda will be discussed in Sentani,” as mentioned by the General who once held the position as Commander of the Mobile Brigade Corps of Papua Regional Police.
