South Sulawesi Regional Police Extends Insulation of Returning Flow Until May 31 2021, in Response to Chief of National Police’s Instruction

Inp.polri.go.id – Makassar. South Sulawesi Regional Police extends the Eid returning flow insulation period until May 31, 2021. During the operation, police have conducted antigen test on 1,464 homecomers.

Director of Traffic Corps of South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Frans Sentoe, said that the insulation operation known as Intensified Routine Activity (KRYD) is extended according to the instruction of Chief of National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

“We also extend (the operation) until May 31 according to Chief of National Police’s Telegram Letter”, Director of Traffic Corps of South Sulawesi Regional Police, Monday (24/5).

The directorate of Traffic Corps of South Sulawesi Regional Police stated that, during the insulation, officers would be deployed at every entrance of South Sulawesi province. Homecomers entering South Sulawesi are subjected to random Covid-19 antigen test daily.

The insulation activity would be conducted on all South Sulawesi entrances from land, sea, and air. People entering (South Sulawesi) are subjected to the random test. It is random, so not everyone is subjected. We supplied 50 test kits daily”, the Director of Traffic Corps of South Sulawesi Regional Police said.

The Director of Traffic Corps of South Sulawesi Regional Police also explains that the insulation operation is to anticipate the homecoming flow of Eid al-Fitr 1442 H, which also to suppress Covid-19 cases in South Sulawesi, mainly in Makassar.

“Our principal is balance. The priority is on Java island. This means we also do not want the rising cases here in Makassar”, Director of Traffic Corps of South Sulawesi Regional Police said.

During the insulation period, 1,464 people have been subjected to the random test from May 6 to May 23. However, officials have not found the homecomers tested reactive to Covid-19.

“1,464 people are swabbed, and none of the results came back positive. No one is reactive for Covid-19”, Director of Traffic Corps of South Sulawesi Regional Police concludes.
