inp.polri.go.id. – Medan. A decisive step was taken by the Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General RZ. Panca Putra Simanjuntak against violation of health protocol in a tourist attraction. Medan Resort Police commanded to close two swimming pools it raised crowds.
The two swimming pools are the Istiqlal Swimming Pool in Marendal and Pondok Cabe Swimming Pool at Patumbang District.
Before it was closed, Panca Putra Simanjuntak carried out aerial patrols by helicopter to monitor the swimming pool on holiday, Monday (05/23/21).
The number one person at North Sumatera Regional Police monitored the two locations in Patumbak Sub-District, Deliserdang District. The visitors at the location is more than the capacity allowed during the pandemic situation and break the COVID-19 health protocol.
Further, the Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police instructed Medan Resort Police and Patumbak Sector Police, led by Head of Security and Profession (Kabid Propam) North Sumatera Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Donald Simanjuntak, to closed the two swimming pools because of the overcrowded.
“At the Istiqlal swimming, there were 1,000 people, and at the Pondok Cabe swimming pool, there were 2,000 people,” as explained by Head of Public Affairs North Sumatera Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, Monday (05/24/2021).
As the two swimming pools have more than 50% visitor, they were closed temporarily to prevent the spread of Covid-19, Hadi Wahyudi mentioned.
“We (the North Sumatera Regional Police) have collaborated with the management of the swimming pools, always to obey the health protocol to prevent COVID-19. If there are still any violations, overcapacity visitors and disobeying Covid-19 protocols, then the business license will be revoked,” Hadi closed the interview.
