Investigating Cases of Leakage of 279 Million Indonesian Citizen Data, Criminal and Investigation Agency Forms Special Teams

inp.polri.go.id. – Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) formed a team to investigate 279 million Indonesian population data leakage.

 

Information related to forming a team to investigate the case was conveyed by the Director of Cyber Crime (Dirtipidsiber), Bareskrim Polri, Police Brigadier General Slamet Uliandi.

 

“A team has been formed regarding data leakage, with assistance from the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police and the Forensic Laboratory,” explained Dirtipidsiber.

 

Data on 279 million Indonesians allegedly leaked and traded on the site raidsforum.com. The data includes a residence identification number, national identity card (KTP), telephone number, email, name, address, and salary.

 

Forum users sell data under the id name ‘Kotz’. This person said that the data that is traded includes data on residents who have died.

 

“There are one million samples of free data to be tested. A total of 279 million. As many as 20 million have personal photos,” he said in a thread created on May 12, 2021.

 

Furthermore, as a first step, the National Police has sent a summons to the Main Director of the Health Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan), Ali Ghufron Mukti.

 

“I call for clarification on Monday, May 24, 2021,” he added.

 

This data leakage case has entered the investigation stage with the summons to the Managing Director of BPJS Kesehatan.
