Case of Leakage of 279 Million Indonesian Citizen Data, the Indonesian National Police will summon the Managing Director of BPJS Kesehatan

inp.polri.go.id. – Jakarta. The police have intervened to investigate suspected data leaks of 279 million Indonesians, which are still widely discussed on social media.

 

Bareskrim Polri also plans to summon the Main Director of the Health Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) Ali Ghufron Mukti.

 

“Since the issue rolled around, I have ordered the Dirtipidsiber (Directorate of Cyber Crime) to investigate this matter,” said the Head of Crime and Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) Police Commissioner-General Agus Andrianto.

 

Kabareskrim added that his party coordinated with related agencies and was also preparing the legality of implementing members in the field. Then also, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Registry Office, and BPJS are investigating the alleged leakage of millions of data on the population of Indonesian citizens.

 

Meanwhile, the Director of Cyber Crime or Dirtipidsiber Bareskrim Polri, Police Birgadier General Slamet Uliandi, said that the BPJS Managing Director would be questioned by investigators on Monday (24/5) next week.

 

The Managing Director of BPJS Kesehatan, was summoned for clarification regarding who was operating the residents’ data in the BPJS Kesehatan database, and the clarification was a step in the initial investigation of this case.

 

“Confirm who operates the digital forensic data,” he said.

 

Previously, an account in the dark internet forum claimed to have data on 200 million Indonesians that were sold in the forum. The data seller claims that the data contents contain the Indonesian Registration Citizen Identification Number (NIK), telephone number, and the address listed in the data folder. In a screenshot, the perpetrator said that the source of the data came from BPJS Kesehatan.
