The presence of the Indonesian National Police is considered to reduce the Crime Rate in West Sumatra

West Sumatra’s Regional Police, Police Inspector General Toni Harmanto said that the presence of police personnel in the community made the crime rate in the area decreased during Ramadan and 2021 Eid.

“security and public order disruption during Ramadhan and 2021 Eid is conducive, this is evidenced by the reduction in criminal acts,” explained the Chief of Regional Police, Friday (05/21/2021).

Regional Police Chief explained that in general, all crime rates in the West Sumatra region had decreased due to the presence of police personnel in the community, especially during Ketupat Singgalang Operation.

“Due to the presence of personnel in the field during the operation, the perpetrator will also cancel the opportunity to commit crimes,” said the Two Star General.

For now, the detailed reduction figures for the percentage of crimes in West Sumatra during Ramadan and Eid can not be detailed, but in the near future an evaluation meeting will be held by the ranks of his party.

“We just evaluate for the next few days for this achievement and what’s certain is that thank God, there is no prominent case raised. Most of the crimes are conventional in nature,” said the Regional Police Chief.
