Mataram. In educating the public about the enforcement of health protocols and homecoming prohibition of Eid al-Fitr 1442 H a few days ago, West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police staff keep issues appeals on adherence.
One of the appeal efforts conducted by the Public Relations and Press Division of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police was the making of a comedy short film titled “Pagah d Lok Don”.
The film shot on Saturday (8/5) in Tembolak Pelangi told the story of two friends who want to deceive police during an insulation activity conducted by West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police personnel to anticipate homecomers during the 2021 Eid celebration.
“We made this film as an educational medium for the public about the government’s policy on homecoming prohibition to suppress Covid-19 transmission”, Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Artanto, during the interview in his office on Wednesday (19/5).
Artanto also explains that the short movie was played by two personnel of Public Relations and Press Division of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, which are Police Brigadier 1st Class Maman and Police Brigadier 1st Class Tauffan as Pagah and Don, respectively. Meanwhile, the role of Traffic Police involves the Police Traffic Corps of Mataram Departmental Police, Police Sub-Inspector 2nd Class Kiki and Police Brigadier 2nd Class Astried.
“This film contains a message of homecoming prohibition imaged as not to deceive the officers during on duty”, he explains.
He also adds that Pagah and Don want to do a homecoming in this less than two-minute film. Due to the government’s regulation, they developed a cunning plan by pretending to be package couriers bringing large cardboard to deceive officers conducting traffic insulation.
“Inside this cardboard, Don is hiding with his large body together with his belongings what would be brought to hometown”, Artanto continues.
However, in the middle of the road, bad luck has befallen. Pagah does not wear a face mask during riding, making their homecoming plans in ruins because the officers caught them.
The ending scene in this short movie shows the Chief of Public Relations and Press Division of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, accompanied by the Chief of the Police Traffic Corps of Mataram Departmental Police, shocked when they found a human in the cardboard and both clapped their foreheads due to the youth’s stupid behaviour.
