A Reflection of The Actions of the General in leading the Nemangkawi Ops to Fight the Armed Criminal Terrorist Group

inp.polri.go.id – Papua. The Nemangkawi Task Force is a joint operation of TNI-Polri personnel who are on duty of suppressing the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua. The group has now been labelled a terrorist organization by the Government.

The Nemangkawi Task Force itself is currently led by Brigadier General Police Roycke Harry Langie as Head of Nemangkawi Operations of the National Police (Polri) from 2020 to the present together with the Head of Operations Nemangkawi of the Armed Forces (TNI) Brigadier General Tri Budi Utomo.

Under the commands of the two Generals, TNI and Polri have successfully provided protection for the community and eradicated the KKB.

They are able to strengthen the TNI-Polri synergy in suppressing the terrorist group. Up to npw , 105 KKB and the group’s support members have been arrested.

Then, 48 firearms, 933 rounds of ammunition were confiscated in 2020. TNI-Polri also shot dead Hengky Wamang, a member of Kalikopi group, on August 16, 2020.

Later, TNI-Polri shot dead leader of the Kalikopi Group, Feri Ilas, on February 28, 2021 and also Leswin Waker, the adjuntant, and two KKB terrorist personnel in Mayuberi; and one of the biggest achievement was the arrest of Victor Yaimo who was one of the List of Wanted Person because of his involvement in a riot in Jayapura in 2019 on 9 May 2021 in Abepura.

“I hold it with great love and responsibility to protect Papua because Papua is Indonesia Sa Papua Sa Indonesia,” said Roycke on Thursday (20/5/2021).

Further, the two Generals have also succeeded in returning 21 members of the NRFP to the Republic of Indonesia. This was also the result of the hard work of the Nemangkawi Task Force team.

Likewise, the arrest sof Paniel Kogoya, the funder, and the supplier of the Armed Criminal Terrorist group, Egianus Kogoya were Nemangkawi were made. The cyber unit in the task force team has also arrested five suspects of hate speech that spread through social media hoaxes of genocide to the Papuans.

Not only through the law enforcement approach, Brigadier General Police Roycke has also succeeded in making soft-approach efforts to the community through the training of Binmas Noken Nemangkawi which is widely accepted by the community.

“Binmas Noken Nemangkawi is present with their various activities, including the Social Service program, trauma healing especially for children, Police Pi Ajar, provision of livestocks and assistance of good breeding for the indigenous Papuan breeders as well as gardening for farmers. We also provide accompaniment and the provision of fertilizers and seeds,” the General said.

The performance of Brigadier General Police Roycke and the team has also had a positive impact, support and appreciation, especially regarding law enforcement, from the community.

One of supports is given by the tribal figure and village head of Sapalek Village, Sakarias Yelipele, who gave his deepest appreciation for the performance of the TNI-Polri in maintaining security in the city of Wamena, especially in the village of Sapalek.
