inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Viral in Social media is or talks a lot about the attitude of the police officers who act with patience and put forward a humanist approach when facing people who throw insults when they are sent back at an isolation post.
Deputy Chairperson of Commission III Ahmad Sahroni revealed that the humanist approach and the patience of these officers were in accordance with the Precision or Predictive, Responsibility and Fair Transparency program initiated by the Resort Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
“It is the duty of the Indonesian National Police to be humanists in accordance with the Chief of INP Program and it is part of the responsibility of members in the field to protect humanism,” Sahroni said when contacted by the media crew, Tuesday (05/18/2021).
There were at least two incidents of residents cursing at the Police when they were sent back at insulation post which attracted the attention of the public. The first was in Sukabumi, where a mother said harsh words to the police because the car contained her family’s group being blocked by the officers.
Then the second incident was a woman who berated the police on Jalan Lingkar Selatan, Ciwandan, Cilegon, Banten. After the virality drew criticism from the public, they both apologized for his attitude to the Police.
The two residents who cursed at them had already apologized directly to the Police. The officer also graciously apologized to the two people.
Sahroni added, people should not go around treating Police officers who have struggled patiently and humanely in preventing the spread of Covid-19 as the implementation of the Indonesian Government’s policies in controlling the corona virus during the Eid holidays.
“Officers are tired of taking precautions according to government regulations. Humanists are needed but not arbitrarily. That’s exactly true but with an attitude that is not friendly to officers, people shouldn’t do that at will,” said Sahroni.
In fact, regarding the cursing of the residents to the apparatus, Sahroni hopes that there will be more assertive action against the people who act arbitrarily.
“It cannot be tolerated. There must be harsh punishment so that people can obey the rules more and respect the officers who work on the field. The punishment can be with social work, or yes, just imprisonment,” said Sahroni.
