Prohibition of Eid Homecoming 2021, South Sumatra Regional Police Turned Over 3,363 drivers and 84 travel drivers

Inp.polri.go.id – Palembang. South Sumatera Regional Police turned over 84 illegal travel drivers as they brought homecomers who would celebrate Eid 1442 H. 3,363 drivers forced to turn over during 6-9 May.

 

“Since the first day of the prohibition of Ied homecoming regulation on 6 May 2021, until today, at least 84 travel cars have been prosecuted at the inter-district/city posts, and South Sumatera border with Lampung, Jambi and Bengkulu province were ordered to return to their home base,”as explained by the Head of Public Affairs (Humas) of South Sumatera regional police (Polda Sumsel), Chief of South Sumatera regional police, Police Grand commissioner Supriadi, Tuesday (11 May 2021).

 

The police also ordered the private car, motorbike, public bus, and public transportation that passed the post to turn over.

 

Based on the current data, during 6 – 9 May, 3,363 private vehicles and 70 public vehicles and some motorcycle were ordered to turn over. However, the number of homecomers who were caught on the posts tend to decrease.

 

“In order to be effective and providing security to society who will celebrate Eid, South Sumatera regional police and provincial government will randomly monitor the bocking post in Palembang City and other cities,” as explained by Head of Public Relations Department of South Sumatera Regional Police.
