inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Crime and Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police work together to conduct a sting operation against Regent of Nganjuk, Novi Rahman Hidayat, in the bribery case of employment positions in the Nganjuk Regency Government.
Head of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono, revealed that the arrest of the Nganjuk Regent was a form of synergy for the first time by the KPK and Indonesian National Police in uncovering corruption cases involving local leader (Mayor, Regent, and Governor).
“This is the first time in the history of the KPK, and Crime and Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police work together to reveal a case of suspected bribery of the Regent,” said Argo in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday (11/5/2021).
Argo explained that the KPK and the Indonesian National Police do the synergic operation starting from reporting, investigations, and data institutions to sting operation together.
“The synergy between law enforcement agencies will continue to be carried out and maintained to be even better,” said Argo. Regent of Nganjuk, Novi Rahman Hidayat, is well known as the suspect after being arrested in a joint KPK and Crime and Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police in Ngajuk, East Java, Monday (10/5/2021). During this operation, some money was also confiscated.
Apart from the regent, six other people were also named suspects. They are Sub-district Head of Pace, Dupriono (DR); Sub-district Head of Tanjunganom; Sub-district acting Head Sukomoro, Edie Srijato (ES), Sub-district Head Berbek Haryanto (HY), Sub-district Head Bambang Subagio (BS), former of Sukomoro sub-district head, Tri Basuki Widodo (TBW), and Adjutant of Ngajuk Regent, M. Izza Muhtadin.
