The presence of TNI-INP, Residents in Ilaga Papua Now Feel Safe

Papua  – Joint Indonesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) troops are still on guard in Ilaga and Beoga, Puncak Regency, Papua. So far, there has been no interference from the Papuan armed criminal groups (KKB) in the two districts.

The immigrant community feels safer and calmer with the presence of TNI-INP troops in Ilaga. One of them was conveyed by Ati, a migrant resident in Ilaga.

He admitted that he had a feeling of fear during the recent gunfire. But now the situation is gradually normalizing, and now he feels safe.

“Yes, if we are humanly afraid here as immigrants, it’s just that it’s safe now; there’s nothing,” said Ati, Saturday (1/5/2021).

“With the presence of Mr. TNI-INP here, we feel more comfortable for activities, going to the market. There is no effect, and now we can continue to sell normally,” he said. It is known that the Nemangkawi Task Force has directly monitored the condition of the people in Ilaga.

Current residents’ activities appear to be running normally. The situation is the same in Beoga, relatively safe since the Mobile Brigade of Nusantara personnel has secured the location.
