The South Tanggerang Sub-Regional Police visited the Papuan student Dormitory in BSD City Dormitory, Jalan Raya Cisauk Lapan, Sampora, Cisauk District, Tangerang Regency, Banten.
The Head of Dormitory Campus 3, Atmajaya Unika, BSD Campus, Khori, said that Papuan students living in this mosque are the students of choice who won all scholarships. They are prospective teachers who will teach in Papua after graduating.
“These Papuan students are chosen children from the Papuan government, and they study here to get scholarships for the PGSD Department, Faculty of Education and Language,” said Khori at Mes Dormitory, Thursday (22/4/2021).
He continued, these students took a concentration in Education Science. After graduating, they will become teachers who will participate in developing human resources in Papua. Also read: Papuan students in Salatiga make a statement against alcohol.
“They are future teacher candidates. For the fifth semester, these children will have started their apprenticeship to teach. Later on, their internships will be returned to their origin,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Chief of South Tanggerang Sub-Regional Police, Police Superintendent Iman Imanuddin, said the arrival of the South Tanggerang Police officers to the Papuan student mosque today was to build synergies in fighting the Coronavirus, which is endemic in Indonesia.
He also invited prospective teachers, Papuan students, to jointly fight the Covid-19 virus. In this case, the South Tangerang Police offer students as Covid-19 vaccinators.
“In terms of vaccination, we still lack the vaccinator personnel. Colleagues can later participate as vaccinators. We will provide vaccinator training in collaboration with the South Tanggerang City Health Office,” continued Iman.
The Papua students welcomed this offer. The students also saw the visit from the police as a form of concern for Papuan students who were studying. Hopefully, this synergy can run continuously.
