The Chief of INP: The Nemangkawi Task Force Always Synergizes for Safe Papua

The Chief of INP, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, appealed to the Nemangkawi Task Force to carry out tasks in Papua. The ranks of the Nemangkawi Task Force were asked to show their love for Cenderawasih Earth.

“Convince the public so that the soft approach will continue to be carried out despite the disturbance of security and public order,” Listyo said in a virtual broadcast at the Police Headquarters, Monday, April 12, 2021.

General Listyo Sigit also asked his staff to act decisively and measuredly when facing social security conditions, especially when it endangers the safety of life.

“I believe colleagues can provide understanding to the whole community,” he said.

Previously, acts of violence committed by an armed criminal group (KKB) in Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua, have been repeated. The armed group reportedly shot a teacher to death.

Chief of Puncak Regional Police, Police Commissioner I Nyoman Punia, said that the victim named Yonatan Randen was a teacher at Beoga 1 Junior High School, whose address was in Julukoma Village. The shooting of teachers by KKB in Beoga is the second time this week.

“There has indeed been a shooting against a teacher Julukoma 1 Junior High School until the victim died by an armed separatist group,” said Police Commissioner Nyoman.

The victim was shot at his house at the end of Beoga Airport at around 16:45 WIT, Friday, April 9, 2021. The day before, a colleague of the victim who also works as a teacher, Oktovianus Rayo, 42, was also shot dead by KKB who came to his shop on Thursday morning, April 8, 2021.
