The Chief of Indonesian National Police (INP), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, issued a decision regarding 1,062 Sector Police throughout Indonesia that could not carry out the investigation process.
The policy is based on the Decree of The Chief of INP Number: Kep / 613 / III / 2021 concerning Appointment of Sector Police Only for Maintenance of Public Security and Order in Certain Areas (Not Conducting Investigations), as of March 23, 2021, which was signed directly by The Chief of INP. General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
In this decision, The Chief of INP paid attention to Commander Wish’s priority program on January 28, 2021.
This is also a priority program in the field of transformation, institutional structuring programs, activities to strengthen the Sector Police and Polres as the front line of INP services with an action plan to change the authority of the Sector Police only to maintain security and security in certain areas without conducting investigations.
“Sector Police who do not carry out investigations in terms of authority and implementation of their duties refer to the Letter of The Chief of INP Number: B / 1092 / II / REN.1.3. / 2021 dated February 17, 2021, regarding the directive of The Chief of INP regarding the authority of certain Sector Police,” Sigit wrote in the decree.
The decision was based on Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police,
Presidential Regulation Number 52 of 2010 concerning the Organizational Structure and Work Procedures of the State Police of the Republic of Indonesia as Amended by Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2017 concerning Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 52 of 2010 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of the State Police of the Republic of Indonesia.
