Papua – The Directorate of Waters Police Papua Regional Police, together with Immigration Class I TPI Jayapura, conducts patrols at the two countries’ sea borders. This concrete action was taken to prevent prohibited goods’ smuggling at the sea border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
This time the patrol was carried out using KM Tanjung Kamdara. Deputy Director of the Waters Police Papua Regional Police, Police Superintendent Michael Mumbunan, said joint patrols were carried out to build collaborative synergy between the Papua Regional Police, Main Naval Base X Jayapura, the Customs, and Quarantine Office.
“Prevention of prohibited goods and maintaining security in Indonesian seas is a shared task, including increasing the supervisory function of foreign nationals crossing the sea route,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jayapura Immigration stated that following the Immigration Law, namely Law no. 6 of 2011, authorizes immigration that all citizens who enter the State of Indonesia must have official documents to prevent foreigners who enter without an official letter must be stopped.
